Renee Evans, Certified Food Scientist
Renee Evans is a Certified Food Scientist who completed her undergraduate degree in Food Science at Purdue University and graduate work in Sustainability at University of Denver. Renee has worked in various categories within the food and beverage industry, most often in a product development role. Within these roles Renee has collaborated with consumer insights, sensory, marketing, packaging, regulatory, quality and operations groups, along with agencies, co-branding and contract manufacturing.
Renee has deep experience in the beverage and flavor categories, with additional experience in bakery, dry mixes and frozen foods. She has developed products for iconic brands such as Jack Daniel’s, Starbuck's, Krispy Kreme, Applebee’s and many others. Background
Renee Evans holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Food Science from Purdue University. Her involvement in professional organizations is extensive, having served the Institute of Food Technologists as a Secretary for the Indiana section, Councilor for the Kentucky section, and as a member of the annual Hot Topics committee. In addition, Renee has shared her expertise as an instructor for a segment of the Flavor Interactions course, which is part of IFT's Continuing Education program.
Beyond her formal roles, Renee is dedicated to fostering the next generation of professionals in the field. She actively participates as a Food Science Ambassador, engaging with students on an individual basis and at career fairs. In this role, she not only imparts knowledge but also inspires and guides students in their exploration of food science, contributing to the ongoing development and promotion of the field. Renee's multifaceted involvement showcases her commitment to education, professional development, and the broader food science community.
